OUTRAGEOUS RACISM
Yes, I used all caps. It’s that important. No, I’m not talking about A-1. I realize there’s a competition going on right now, but this is important enough to risk losing funny points. Let’s get serious for a moment.
I heard a talk radio host describing an occurrance today that I would not have believed if I hadn’t heard it myself. A UCLA pro-life magazine called “The Advocate” made a few calls to several Planned Parenthood offices in several states. In each case, the caller acted as a person who wished to send in an anonymous donation to help fund abortions. This is nothing new, no problem there. This particular “caller” was a white male, wishing to make a specific contribution to the abortion of black babies. There were no objections or questions about this particular request, so the “caller” pushed the envelope a little farther. He stated, “I just don’t really want affirmitive action affecting my kids. They need an opportunity at college without much competition.” When there was STILL no reaction from the operator, (or in one case, the Vice President of the operation herself) the caller went on to say that he thought there were just too many blacks around today. “The less blacks the better.”
(Remember to turn off the auto-radio on the bottom of this page to hear the video clip.)
At this point, I felt like vomitting and was mentally *begging* the operator to burst out from a silent angry fit. Not a single one of them did. I was crushed. I’ve never been a supporter of Planned Parenthood and have always been a pro-life advocate. But this is so much farther than just pro-life vs pro-choice. Such blatant racism should be covered more in the main stream media. These clips have been out for almost two weeks now and I had to accidentally come to hear it on Laura Ingram’s pro-life radio talkshow. I should have heard it from CNN, MSNBC, FOX, ABC, ANY OF THEM!
Here’s the link to the story: http://www.townhall.com/Columnists/MaggieGallagher/2008/04/22/is_planned_parenthood_above_the_law
And here’s the youtube.com link to the actual, unaltered clips:

Why aren’t we hearing about this? Because pro-choice liberals want the liberal population’s vote. That means, silencing the liberal media on this issue. So where are the conservative pro-life groups? The anti-racism groups? Right here. You and I. This isn’t just about being pro-life or pro-choice. It has to do with human beings doing what’s right. Born, Unborn, Black, Hispanic, Asian, and White. This affects you no matter which of the previously mentioned groups you are. Your tax dollars go to support Planned Parenthood and their racist ideas. What a shame. I know several people who just paid hundreds of dollars from their pockets to the IRS this year. It’s a good thing that money goes to such a great cause, isn’t it?

Wow Social awareness… And risking the ever-so-tight competition to voice out your thoughts about it!! That’s definitely what the NUMBER ONE XANGAN IDOL should do. :]
I LOVE LIFE_BY_US!!! :]
Wow… That’s friggin disturbing… That is friggin disturbing… I can’t believe that…
Have never been a supporter of PP….this give me one more reason to continue that stance. Thanks for the info.
Yo! I heard this too. Not sure if it was on the same program, as I heard it several weeks ago. One of the employees I heard was actually somewhat offended at the caller, but still said nothing, and “received the donation.” Other than her, all the others seemed elated to hear what this “caller” said! One woman I heard said ” I have never had such an offer for donations! I am soooo excited!”
What I heard was that they were calling and requesting quite bluntly you make donations SPECIFICALLY for black women to have abortions. Statements such as “population control,” and “bettering the chances for my child to get into college by lessening the black competition.” ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Down with planned parenthood… down with planned parenthood…..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh. right. you mentioned the same caller. I commented before I read…. oops
I too have heard this and shook my head. I have come to expect little from those that advocate such things in life. Stupid as stupid does.
*shakes head* Idiots.
RYC: My friend and I read romance novels (the smuttier the better) whenever she comes over. We like to make fun of them and dissect all of the cliches.
Good luck with Xanga Idol!
Considering Margaret Sanger’s background…I’m not surprised.
I couldn’t even finish listening to it. I can’t even fathom people who would put up with someone saying that. How disgusting!
Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
Anyone who’s surprised look into the founding of Planned Parenthood and it’s founder, Margaret Sanger. There is nothing shocking at all to that phone call when you consider the group’s history.
mandas coming mandas coming!!!! yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! i love and miss you!! have a safe trip and i will see you soon!!!
I’m voting for you honey.
You’ve got my vote.

I thought I was pretty knowledgeable in the ways of Planned Parenthood.(You have to know your enemy to work effectively against them.) But I can honestly say I had no idea about Margaret Sanger. I first heard about her Eugenics work last Friday at the new Ben Stein movie, Expelled. (phenomenal flick, btw.) It’s amazing how even those of us who consider ourselves well-learned still don’t know as much as we thought. Leads me to realize how uneducated the mass public must be about all this.
as for te PP thing. we’ve all had jobs that had people say stupid, hateful things to try and get a rise out of us. many orginzation have a “do not respond” bit in their hand book. i’m sure planned parenthood gets several hundred phone calls a day that would make many of use burn with rage or burst out in tears. ignoreing the ignorant bable of some people may be a learned behavior. does the story say how much the jerk was going to give? most people who do fund raising will put up with the worst things ever said about another human being if it means a large donation. after all, it’s not like the people at planned parent hood were going to write down in the budget what and who the money would be used for. (mocking tone)”lets see $60,00 to the mexican elimination, $50,000 to the white fund, we have that extra $20,000 that is set aside for blacks only so that triples that reserve, and that leaves $12,000 for other/non-denomination. make sure the irs gets a copy of that, we don’t want any problems from them.” no that wouldn’t happen. if anyone who has had a job answering phones for a comapny knows, callers are dicks because you can not reach out and hit them. no one could point them out in a crowd and say, “that’s the racist baby killer!” don’t get me wrong people who mean that seriously piss me off. amanda can tell you, she knows me. but i wanna know, who at the radio station thought that would be a good bit?? who approved the caller to not only make the calls, but record them and then put them on the air?? it only has shock and anger value towards an orginzation that already has negative stigma. abortion is one thing they do there, they also educate high school students about safe sex. given that some schools do not offer sex ed, many parents are uncomfortable talking to their kids about sex/stds/protection and the proper use of those items, it’s a needed “evil”.
sorry i wote “radio station” and “put it on the air” i was distracted while typeing. putting it in print is just as bad, if not worse. i tend to be pretty focused when i rant or counter rant, but not lately. i just wanted to correct myself before people pointed out my dumbness and dismissed me without thinking over what i had wrote.
later
I don’t even know that I can say that I am shocked!!! What is going on in the world today? That people still have a mentality that would even condone such beliefs.
I figure the people at planned parenthood are strapped for cash as much as any other government-sponsored organization and they will bite their tongue if it means receiving donations. It doesn’t mean that Planned Parenthood is racist. It simply means that the people answering their phones are apathetic and unwilling to engage in a confrontation if it means sacrificing a donation.
I also think it’s kind of silly that people even make abortion an issue. If somebody wants to have an abortion, they’ll do it whether or not it’s legal and nobody can stop them. At least when it’s legal, women don’t have to resort to dangerous methods of abortion. Trying to ban abortion seems as futile as trying to ban masturbation.
that’s outrageous. maybe the operators are told not to question anything, but the vice president? that’s just shocking. so is the color of your text — it kind of hurts my head, but i’ll suffer through it to keeping reading!
Adoption levels are down in the US because women have abortions instead. People are placed on waiting lists for years and sometimes never get to adopt or they end up spending tens of thousands of dollars trying to bring in chinese or african babies. I can say this because I’ve had friends and family waiting on adoption lists until they are considered “too old” to adopt.
Why is the world so fixated on lack of consequences and instant gratification? When I got in trouble as a kid, I received my justice for my actions and it built a strong moral character in me. That’s why kids are going crazy in the world today. No sense of consequence. Nobody holds them accountable for their actions. What a shame.
@tjbruin00 - I don’t think it’s futile at all, love. If someone wants to have an abortion and it were harder to accomodate, they’d have two choices: deal with the pregnancy and put the child up for adoption or try to “relieve themselves” of the baby by methods that could potentially hurt themselves. But honestly, even if it’s legal, going to an abortion clinic can still have a very lasting effect on your body. A substantial amount of women experience extreme complications from having abortions in these legal clinics and an even higher amount end up having difficulty with conception after they decide to try for a baby.
In my eyes, legal or illegal doesn’t matter. It’s immoral. These clinics are required by law to offer a sonogram for the women and girls to see the life inside of them. Most clinics have had enough undercover works experience no offers for this and in some cases, they are downright refused to have that procedure done.
After all, it’s easier to sell a fetus to science than to have to show someone their baby and “lose the sale”.
Money trumps morality.
it’s a lot easier to teach people to wear a condom, or waite, than any of the above. i don’t think people should abort babys because they are adorable little people. seriously unless both lives were in dangered by the pregnancy then it’s up to her. but if you do the deed, take care of the babys. people should stand up and take care of the ultimate personal responsiblity.

Ummm….are you kidding me? Are you truly serious? There is no proof here that Planned Parenthood supports a racist belief. They accept DONATIONS for the purpose of funding abortion procedures. The caller, the one with racist beliefs, requests the donation be put to use for HIS racist beliefs. The act of accepting the money for his request does not make Planned Parenthood racist. It makes them consistent with their policy of accepting donations, whatever the donor’s ideology. Don’t use convoluted logic to make this about being Pro-Life. That would make you…well, nearly as ignorant as racists are, and I don’t want to believe that.
@Anti_Protagonist -
I’m gonna take a wild guess that you’re a liberal because you read like one. You see what you want to see and make up the rest for smear purposes. I specifically made the point that this was SO much deeper than pro-life vs pro choice.
There are hundreds of articles reporting racism all the way to the very FOUNDER of the organization, Margaret Sanger. (also, very interesting is information found in the new film, “Expelled.”)
Stolen from an online website:
“Margaret Sanger worked closely with W.E.B. Du Bois on his “Negro Project,” an effort to expose Southern black women to birth control. Certainly, by the late 1940s, she spoke about ways to solve the “Negro problem” in the United States.
“Our failure to segregate morons who are increasing and multiplying … demonstrates our foolhardy and extravagant sentimentalism,” she wrote in the recently republished “The Pivot of Civilization.” This book, written in 1922, was published at a time when scientific racism had been used to assert black inferiority.
In a 1921 article in the Birth Control Review, Sanger wrote, “The most urgent problem today is how to limit and discourage the over-fertility of the mentally and physically defective.” Reviewers of one of her 1919 articles interpreted her objectives as “More children from the fit, less from the unfit.” Again, the question of who decides fitness is important, and it was an issue that Sanger only partly addressed. “The undeniably feebleminded should, indeed, not only be discouraged but prevented from propagating their kind,” she wrote.”

It wasn’t just blacks, it was all immigrants and native americans too that were considered “feeble minded” people. My point is these organizations, while not 100% racist, still follow her core values. The practice of Eugenics is what Hitler did too. But his practice was a little more violent.
@tjbruin00 -
I agree completely!
wow so messed up.
quite disgusting actually.
@life_by_us -
Not Liberal, actually. Liberals have some pretty shitty ideas as well as conservatives.
Let me explain. By your logic, because 2 + 2 = 4, and a chair has four legs, then 2 + 2 = chair.
My first problem is that you watched this video and did not evaluate the entire situation. The first part of the video is audio clips, cut and pieced together by someone. If I had recordings from all of the phone conversations, without editing, I would be more prone to believe it. About half way through, they do actually share 2 complete phone calls. The first call could be construed as someone wanted to make a donation in order to HELP that certain minority group, not kill off more black children. The caller sounds like he want to make sure there are fund available if an African American seeks an abortion. The second call is clearly racist… BY THE CALLER. So the PP rep didn’t scream out the guy. THAT’S HER JOB. If someone tells you “Hey, I’m going to donate money to your cause, by the way, I’m racist” accepting the money does not make you racist because the two aren’t really related. I personally do not condone abortions, I think that there are other options available if you end up in a situation where you have a child that you cannot provide for. But the evidence that you show does not say that PP is racist. It says that there are some jackass callers who might be. Let’s say they do send in their anonymous donations. Once PP has the money, without a name on the money to track it, that money could go toward ANY abortion. What you don’t understand is that before abortion was legal, and before it had medical regulations placed on it, people would abort babies on their own, at home, in ways that were very harmful to them and sometimes destroyed their reproductive systems and could not reproduce again thereafter. I strongly support sexual responsibility, but women shouldn’t have to resort to drastic measure if they see themselves as unfit to raise a child. Raising a child in an unfit environment is just as bad. I’d rather have a drug addict get an abortion than ruin the life of her child by getting it addicted to drugs in the womb and not being able to provide a stable life for it. Yes, what those callers said was truly awful. But the people at Planned Parenthood provide many services to the community, including sex education and free or cheap contraceptive in order to prevent pregnancy in the first place. They are a NON-PROFIT organization. They will take a donation to help those who come through the doors whether the donator is racist or not. Also, with the whole Eugenics thing against the founder, do you even know what Eugenics was? Yes, it ended up being applied in a terrible way, but when the movement was first started, it simply encouraged those who were healthy to reproduce more. That’s it. That’s the Eugenics that she backed. Also, I don’t know if you know this, but in the time that she lived, MANY WERE RACIST. It was a part of the culture. The civil rights movement hadn’t happened. Part of the woman’s suffrage movement didn’t wants black women to get the right to vote. It’s not right, but it isn’t that surprising.
Seriously, read a fucking history book. Then maybe you’d understand the entire situation before you start calling this people indecent because they didn’t chew a guy out AT THEIR PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT because he wanted to give them money. Oh yes, and by the way, he’s a racist.
