  • Place your bets

We had a sonogram yesterday revealing that we’re 8 weeks as of today.  In 12-15 weeks we can find out the sex of the baby. Wanna make a bet?

I’m betting it’s a girl. Scientifically speaking, (sperm vs time of conception vs egg dropping) it has a higher percentage of being a girl. Also,  I’ve been a royal b*tch to my poor husband. Hormones being rampant? Good chance that it’s a girl.  Fortunately, Derek’s  taking it pretty well… Except in the middle of a heated fight when I suddenly smile and say,

“Um… Honey.. I’m not mad anymore. Hormones. Sorry.” I think he secretly wants to kill me, then.

So our baby is as long as a peanut right now, according to the sonogram. As you all know, I’m a huge pro-lifer advocate so stick around. I’ll prove to the world that there’s more than just a blob of cells in there.

Here’s the two month baby belly pic:

HAHA! Just wait until these start getting gross. About the time  I hit 6 or seven months, you  won’t even want to look at the pics. The belly’s all stretchy and gross. Kinda like the Alien movies.

New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby’s hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his “tail” is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven’t developed enough to reveal whether you’re having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can’t feel it.

  • CONGRATULATIONS!!!

When my wife was pregnant with short stack, we used to call him “peanut”.

  • @edlives - I call mine snuggle peanuts.  And thanks! When your wife was pregnant, did her moving preggo belly freak you out? It totally creeps the hell out of me… =/

  • I never lost my tail as a baby. I had to have it removed.

  • Go prolifers!

  • @life_by_us -

yeah, at first…but laughed about it as the pregnancy moved on…”THE ALIEN MOVES, AAAAHHHH”

  • Baby belly. *Giggle* You are pooching a little. :) Pregnant women are beautiful. Even when my niece was 9 1/2 months (yes…that baby was not coming out), she looked  beautiful as miserable as she was.

Hmmm…I’m going to say girl as well, but I could be wrong.

Love the widget and information you’re providing.

    Have a great day!

  • <—— Oh by the way…that baby that didn’t want to come out is my profile pic. That’s my great niece, Paige. Yay for babies.

  • @iknowHimdou - I always wondered who the baby in your icon was.  Mine have always been at least a few days early. I hope the habit continues. I watched a video on youtube of a woman ‘s belly waving and moving around because of the baby inside.  I was the same amount of months along and it still made me feel nauseous. My husband and mom laugh at me about it.  I know it’s beautiful, but it freaks me out… =)

  • Lol! I used to gently poke my friend’s belly when she was about 8 months along and talk to her little boy in there. One day….you saw his body shift and there on her belly was a little butt imprint. We laughed so hard…he was mooning me. I stopped poking him after that. :)

  • @iknowHimdou -  AWWWW! You reminded me of my first pregnancy with my daughter. She was forever sticking her little but up at the top of my belly- just beneath my ribs. I used to give her little spankings when it showed up. Now she’s two and the spanking habit continues. I love baby butts.

  • yep i think it’ll be a girl, calling it right now: girl. haven’t thought of a nick name for her yet.

  • Are you going to pick out names soon?

  • I know a nickname that Tio can give the baby, Hildegard. Put that in with her siblings Brunhilda and Thor and we have a mighty norse army starting. If you don’t like that one, how about Gunnhild(means maiden on Battle), Dagmar, Gerda, Helga, Runa (means secret love) or Sigrid.  Love those Viking names, and with you and D being 6ft and 6’4″, and blond, the Viking blood could run in your veins.  Can’t wait for my next granddaughter.

  • So, I tagged you in my recent blog. You weren’t mentioned, but remember when I was telling you not to worry about anything….I need to listen to my own advice! Ha! :)

  • really funny when i read “The belly’s all stretchy and gross. Kinda like the Alien movies.” lol i heard some coconut oil could help!

congrat again that u and husband both doing great on this pregnancy

anyway : what is pro-lifer? i’m very confused now…i heard pregnant women talked about it around me…i’m kinda…”Okay, i was just back from Magical world and what the hell is Pro-Lifer?” i sounded like Ron Wesley in that point, really…

that was also great knowledge for me…ohh…my bet is on a girl too :D

hey, but i think my belly is more bigger than u, but i’m not pregnant! may be i have to do some sit-up :P lol

  • @starrynite45 - Hey lady! A “pro-lifer” is simply a woman who believes abortion is wrong. Anyone who is pro-life believes that from the moment the baby is conceived, it has a soul and is a real human being who deserves the chance at life. We do not believe it’s just a “blob of cells” as many people will  try to  convince you.  That’s why I post pictures. Even though you can’t see that I’m pregnant right now, there’s a real baby in there. It has a face, a heart, hands and feet. It’s not fair that people take the risk of being sexually active , then get pregnant and then decide to kill an innocent baby.

I hope that helps you to understand a little better. =)

  • @life_by_us -

thanks so much! better better :D i’m not Ron Wesley anymore lol

  • GIRL GIRL GIRL!  ha ha.  Best of luck with the pregnancy.
