  • My Sweaty Baby

Our house is officially moved out and on it’s way to Texas. The movers came at 8 am and left at 8 pm. Out of a twelve hour work day, they really only put in about 8 hours of *actual* work. The rest was spent eating bologna sandwiches on my front lawn in the personal lawn chairs they brought. Never before have I seen  three men in more desperate need of belts.

I got an A-hole view every time someone bent over and my eyes were bleeding by the end of the day.  My old-men movers did not seem to understand how unprofessional their grey-haired butts were.  Have I mentioned: GROSS.
We’ll spend a few days going back and forth between Indy and Ohio so my internet usage will be sketchy from time to time. But just know  that I’m bitching out my talk-radio everytime I hear ignorant liberal comments. (lately these have been coming from conservatives…..)

    For the record:
    1. McCain put forth a reform bill  broadcasting the future demise of Freddie Mac and Fannie May about four years ago.
About two years ago, Obama became the second biggest recipient of slippery money from the Mac and May companies.
    2. I’ve heard some of Obama’s radio ads against McCain and I’ve been laughing so hard I’ve had tears in my eyes. His lies are so outrageously false  that a monkey could spot the difference. (Come on…. who would honestly believe McCain’s planning to make the Iraq war longer so that Baghdad can build a giant ferris wheel??? So ignorant….Such a great laugh.)
    3. I’m really ready for the elections to come. It’s become SO petty and ridiculous that I can’t handle the drama anymore. McCain’s got fantastic intelligence and experience but the world’s most monotonous voice. Obama’s got the experience of a naive four year old but is  fantastic at delivering a speech. (as well as has great speech writers.)

I didn’t think I’d ever say this, but I’m SO TIRED of politics. Gimme a week. I’ll be over this.

    About Babies:
Apparently, my 17 week old inner child can now begin developing  sweat glands. I’ve gotten to the point  where I’m actually *aching* to know the sex of the baby. I won’t get the opportunity to find out for at least a month. The kicks are more and more frequent. I feel about 4-5 butterfly flutters in my tummy a day.

    17 Weeks:

    Your
    baby’s skeleton is
    changing
from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her
lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5
    ounces
    now (about
    as much as a turnip
), and she’s around 5 inches long from head to bottom.
She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

  • thankfully, the *big* political season is almost over. i’m so ready.

    … btw: yay, texas!!

  • Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy i can barely contain my excitement!!  i am so glad that you will be home soon, we will have to go to lunch or something when you get here!!!  Oh and guess what????  My Husband is home!!!  he got sent home for medical, he has to have surgery!@!!  anyways i love and miss you and hope to hear from you soon!!!

  • Every time I see your baby timeline I say Awwww!  :)

  • yay for Texas! Steaks!!!

  • I’m tired of politics as well.

    Hooray for Texas!

And I was actually thinking about you a few days ago in Anatomny & Physiology class. Although I don’t actually know you, you are the only person I know that is pregnant right now. We were studying about hair, skin, and nails and the chapter went into a little detail about fetusus, it made me think of you. And we just learned about sweat glands as well.

    Yay for turnips!

  • Gah! If I could spell, that would be fantastic!

It should say fetuses, not fetusus! Xanga needs to activiate spell check on comments!

  • So the inside of your uterus is sweaty. How does THAT make you feel?

This election has been going on for like three years. I’m ready to see it end.

  • I doubt that McCain predicted the housing crisis. At least the bill going around the internet supposedly proving he did is a bunch of Bull. Here’s an analysis I found:
“First off, the original bill was sponsored by Hagal. It was co-sponsered by Sununu, and Mrs. Dole. MC was not listed on the original 2005 co-sponsor list. It shows that MC joined, as a co-sponsor, in Jan 2007.

It does NOT say that the bill was killed by the Dem’s. It says it was introduced. It was never scheduled for debate (not yet it says). Not yet put up for a vote by the senate. Not yet put up for a vote by House. Not yet signed by the President.
From 2005 to 2007, the House and the senate were majority Repub’s. It was in Jan 2007 that the Dem’s took over.

Such a long bill. What I am gathering from this bill, is they wanted to change WHO was overseeing the regulations to a Corporation. If you want to really go nuts reading the entire bill (I only skimmed through). There is section that the employees that worked for Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, would not be let go. they would be guaranteed a job with the new Corp…….LOL. So in essense, it would be the same people running it with a different name. [Think you can find this fact towards the bottom of the long so long bill written.]

Check the bold. EXCLUDES FROM SECURITIES REPORTING REQUIREMENTS.
Now click “show co-sponsors”. This will bring down those who co-sponsered this bill. It shows MC joined as co-sponser in Jan 2007. The others that are listed in “show co-sponsors”, were already co-sponsors on the bill before as shown on the original bill.
If MC just joined as co-sponsor on Jan 2007, show me where he, or even the other sponsors of this bill tried to get it to a vote.

So who ever said that the Dem’s killed this. The guy who wrote the article, or who ever. Either didn’t check his facts, or is ..well……….”

Here’s the link so you can check these claims yourself: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=s109-190

So basically this bill was not sponsored by McCain, was not blocked by the democrats, and did not regulate the market in any significant way that would have made a difference. It probably would have made things worse!

Perhaps McCain did predict it. Certainly Obama has a so called “plan” to prevent it in 2007. It probably wouldn’t have worked either, but it’s not like he didn’t think about it. McCain probably has tried too. But neither pushed very hard. And besides by late 2007 it ought to have been obvious to EVERYONE. But nobody wanted to rock the boat.

But Ralph Nader predicted this stuff 6 years ago or more and more accurately. So did Ron Paul. Lots of people have been warning shrilly about what is going to happen including good economists for many many years. But they’ve all been ignored and pushed to the sidelines.

  • i’m getting sick of politics, too.  this campaign has been ridiculous and extremely one-sided on the part of the media.

so now not only is your baby urinating, but also sweating!  what a sweet thought.  ;)   i wish i had a peeing, sweating baby, too…

  • I will never eat turnips again that I don’t think of one sweating inside of you…………………….  love you aunt Syndi

  • @nephyo - I did look up the housing reform bill on the same website you recommended, but I show that it was introduced in 05 and McCain joined in early 06 on it. (May 25,2006 http://www.govtrack.us/congress/record.xpd?id=109-s20060525-16&bill=s109-190)

And since you answered something on this post, I’ll bring my reponse from your statements on my “bracelet” post here  instead of scattering rebuttles everywhere:

Fantastic response. Again, I commend your ability to make intelligent comments without being unnecessarily rude or downright bitchy. (as so many others do.)

I do know that McCain had toyed with the idea of a pro-choice running mate for awhile. (Lieberman) Being a morality voter,  I don’t tend to go with “republican/democrat” party lines. (I’m typically pro-libertarian.) I go with whom I think will help keep the country in good moral standing. I wasn’t even sold on McCain till he picked Palin. (I wanted Huckabee or Thompson and I’m still pouting over it.)

    Now just a few rebuttles:

You said: “Obama doesn’t support immediate withdrawal either. He agrees with the troops and the generals and always has.”

But this is from his speech on September 12,2007:

“Let me be clear: There is no military solution in Iraq and there never was. The best way to protect our security and to pressure Iraq’s leaders to resolve their civil war is to immediately begin to remove our combat troops. Not in six months or one year — now.” – Associated Press (Source: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/09/12/politics/main3253449.shtml)
He HAS changed his mind, but only recently since he had gone to Iraq and spoken with the generals and troops and seen the amount of work still necessary over there.

Also, make sure you avoid getting bi-partisan facts from factcheck.org. They’re under large scrutiny for misrepresentation on several “facts” and are in the process of legal paperwork which could lead to suing. The legal question? Born Alive Infant Protection Act. It was revealed that one of their “fact checkers”  is pro-Obama and has been twisting facts during the whole BAIPA questionaire. (Which is ridiculous since all the Senate’s work is public record. I have copies of all his anti-baby protection voting records on my hard drive. Also, audio from his stand up comments against it. Why would people try and twist facts when there’s audio and hard paper evidence?…… Duuuuuhhhhhhhh….)

  • @jadelbugg - Wow, what a bittersweet reason to be home. Derek’s been talking about joining the reserves lately. Tell me, are you covered under Tricare when David’s not considered active or only when his unit is activated?

  • there is tricare prime which is for active duty, and you can get tricare standard when you arent active.  with that one you can go to the base and it is free but if you go off base you have to pay a deductible and copay!!!  yep it was definately bittersweet!! glad to have him home but not happy he has to have surgery, it is just minor though so it will be okay.  yayyyyy when will you actually be in texas?

  • Back when we had cable at my house, I always found myself watching Neil Cavuto’s show while eating lunch. Anyone who watched that would’ve seen this coming. I sure did.

  • congrats on getting everything moved out.  I have often wondered if dressing like a plumber is a new trend for men.  I can go to the store and see one that will bend over and my day will then be ruined.

  • Congrats on the move!

Are you any closer to choosing a name for the baby?

  • @TheCheshireGrins -

We’ve still not nailed down any definites. We have several maybes. I don’t know that any of them were from the list that people contributed to. (although they were all taken into consideration.)
We’ve narrowed it down to several names per boy and girl. When we find out the sex (in a month) we’ll narrow it down to just three and decide when we meet him or her. =)
PS, Sorry to hear your kitty is sick. =(
