  • It’s a GIRL!

We’re in our 18th week of pregnancy and had an appointment today with our doctor. We managed to twist his arm enough to convince him that we should have a sonogram before we hit the road to Texas. As the title suggests, we’ve got a female leech in my womb. (Or a fruit/veggie reference if you’ve kept up with the baby center updates at the bottom of the page.)

We’ve narrowed the names down to a simple few:

    Eryn Patricia

    Reagan Ann

(The middle names are in honor of family members.)

I’d like to have at least one more name on the list so when we meet our new girl, we don’t stick her with a name that doesn’t suit her.  (Like Odell, Ophelia,  Nori, or something strange…)

So now I’m in an all out cute-a-thon while shopping for new baby accessories. With my Caity, we were careful not to get too froo-froo so we wouldn’t have to deal with a girlie girl. By nature, however, my girl has become a princess. (much to my dismay and discouragement.) So at this point, we’ve stopped caring if they like pink. (except Aidan. It still bothers us that he likes pink.)

Today we moved out of our apartment and turned in the keys. Our crap has been out of it for a week, but we’ve finally finished with all of our appointments and house cleaning. NO MORE OHIO. EVAARRRR!!!!!  Now we have a few days of vacation in Indy and visiting family before we head to Texas on Monday. (within hours of my arrival, Mom and I will be patrolling the baby department of every store withing 25 miles.)

In case you’re wondering, the corruption in the Ohio voting system is HUGE. They’ve been taking homeless people out for dinners if they promise to register and vote for Obama. If they say they want to vote for McCain, they’re not being picked up.  Not only that, they’re being taken to multiple districts to  register in multiple counties and subject multiple votes under the address of “transient.” Nevada’s facing indictment for pulling the same crap. How’s that for sinking low to win?

    18weeks

Head to rump, your baby is approximately 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and weighs almost 7 ounces. She’s busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you’ll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. If you’re having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place.

  • Ok, Samuel just turned four. Now four years difference isn’t that bad presuming the younger is over eighteen. So don’t let li’l Princess Ruthie ( Or I guess I will let you pick her name, lol) ever date until we can get them together. Deal?

  • (P.S. I am thinking the first date could be when she is 30 and he is 34. Sound good to you? )
( I will get him his license about a year before so he will have learned how to drive safe before their first date)

  • YAY! Another baby girl! How exciting!

And, apparently, if you were going for a reference to go with her apparent vegetarianism, you should call her a bell pepper.

  • congrats!  exciting to know, huh?

gittercritter also referenced ohio’s voting registration issues in his latest blog (posted after the video).

  • Congrats!  A girl!  (they should have a pink mini)

  • @James3_1 - Deal. I wasn’t allowed a date until I was 18 years old. (but by then, I was already in love with my husband.) If it doesn’t work out with this one, I have a sassy two and a half year old whom I’m offering to multiple Christian parents. (A girl needs choices.)

@mileyfan08 - Or since it’s a girl, she  could be a “Belle” pepper? Okay, I already know I’m lame. By now, you should know that too. =)

@storyslut - THANKS!!! I’ve been dancing all day. My husband just had oral surgery yesterday and is in a drugged state. He’s been severely uninterested in my public humiliation attempts. So I’ll dance here. *boogies*

  • @life_by_us -

Actually, I think that one is cute!

  • I like Eryn Patricia more than the other one.

I’ll assassinate the puppet masters in Ohio.

  • i think i called this one a girl too didn’t i?? so now the nick nameing begins. brunehilda, thor, and now. . . . helga?? maybe not, perhaps hellena. yeah i likes that one, hellena.  :)

  • You should name her Anya because you guys look Russian.

  • @life_by_us -

Yeah, I saw that video. The one with Caity and the bucket on her head. Come to think of it, two years is closer than four and according to that video her and Samuel would get along just fine. He would probably go say ” No, you’ve got to really pull the bucket down, if you can see anything it’s not nearly as fun. Here – hold my sippie cup and watch this!”

We’ve got at least 26 years to figure it out…

  • P.S. Ya’ll drive safe now. A little hint from a Trucker -
From Franklin, In. it’d be best to go back up to Indy, and take I-70, I-44 (St.Louis) through Oklahoma, and then grab 277 south right into Angelo.

(Sorry, I can’t help it. I hear someone is going on a trip and it just comes out. Nothing I can do about it, but that is the best route.)

  • Congrats! I love both names. They’re unique enough that she probably won’t have to deal with many kids having the same name once she gets into school. My full name is Megan and being born in 1985, I think pretty much every parent named their girl babies Megan back then. In high school, I was one of 6 Megan’s in a 25 person class. Some of our last names began with the same letter so we couldn’t even go by Megan B. or anything like that. We went by our last name, like football players, which is seriously embarrassing for a 13 year old girl.

  • Wonderful!  Personally, I think Eryn is a beautiful name.  My vote’s on that one.

  • Both beautiful names for what will be a beautiful princess.

But I’m partial to Reagan Ann.

  • CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I’m so excited for you guys!! Now Caity will have a new toy to play dress up with :0) Since you don’t seem to mind girly stuff now, I’ll be able to indulge in something cute for your little one.

Need any more name suggestions? Maybe: Alicia, Evelyn, Giavanna ( I used to babysit a little girl named Giavanna)

  • yayyyyyyyy rylie gets a new friend to play with!!!!LOL i cant wait to see you!!!  give me a call once you get settled or david told me to let yall know if you need help unpacking or anything we would love to help!!!  love you and miss you!!!

  • I like both names. :)

    Yay for girly bell peppers!

Have a great weekend, Amanda! :D
